"They were all amazing"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Children's Ward

(as a parent/guardian),

My son became ill at 2 days old so we took him to out of hours who sent for an ambulance and asked that we be taken to forth valley royal hospital instead of our local hospital because he was born in forth valley, they suspected an infection and quickly got a cannula in him with IV antibiotics.

As it was nearly morning the nurses encouraged us to go get breakfast and said they'd look after baby. As I had only given birth 2 days before I was still in alot of pain and the doctors that came to check on my son made sure I was okay too and made sure I still got my postnatal check ups in maternity triage.

The nurses also took my little boy during the night to let me rest because they knew I hadn't slept with being so worried, it was a very worrying and emotional time for us but they made it more bearable and looked after him so well, they were all amazing and definitely deserve medals.

I hope your little boy is much better now. What a worrying time you have had especially so soon after the birth.

It is good to hear that staff were caring and supportive to both yourself as a new mum and to your ill baby. They will be pleased to hear your positive feedback.

I hope your wee boy is now well on the road to recovery and continues to keep good health.

Best wishes to all

Gail
