"Absolutely brilliant minor injuries unit"

About: Ripon and District Community Hospital

Visited minor injuries unit for the third time in 2 years and again... they are absolutely brilliant! No waiting around, every one is friendly and provides great service. Nurses come across as very knowledgeable and experienced. First visit was sudden extreme eye irritation (dirt in eye), second visit was husbands head injury needing stitches, third visit horse kick on leg needing X-ray. On all three occasions in and out in the time that the actual treatment took plus very little waiting between units I don't know how they do it, but it actually seems that every one there just loves their work and wants to be helpful and accommodating. Even when it suddenly gets crowded (waiting for crutches at Physio dept) they still are getting on happy and efficiently, to get every one served to their very best ability. One little remark: It would be good to correct the information about opening hours on the website though, as in the unit I noticed they do have opening hours in the evening (until 9 or 10 if I remember well), so I had not needed to wait until next morning. Accident happened in the evening, but I waited for next morning to have injury checked out in Ripon, because I hated the idea of going to another A&E where things usually do not feel as perfect as in this unit.
