I took my daughter to minor injuries on Tuesday 14th April 2015. I was told my daughter would be seen within 45 minutes, which then turned into 2 hours. My daughter hand was x rayed, to be told she had fractured her fingers. Her fingers were strapped up , and we were told to keep them like that for 24 hours, then to take the tape off and for her to move her fingers. Today thursday 16th April 2015, I phoned the war memorial to ask for advice, as my daughters hand had become very swollen, and still in alot of pain. The practitioner I spoke to reviewed my daughters x ray to say that there was nothing else on her hand fractured apart from her fingers. I was then told that my daughter needs to still have her fingers strapped up (which I had done ) and then it should of been in a sling so her had was elevated. My daughter was not put in a sling. I was then told my daughter had a follow up appointment on monday 20th April, which I was not told about. I took my daughter back to the hospital to be reviewed as I was still unhappy about the pain she was in. The practitioner who I had spoke to on the phone was the person who reviewed my daughter's hand. They seemed very rude to me, and when I asked them why my daughter, had been told to take the tape off after 24 hours, they would not answer my question. I am very disappointed that my daughter was sent away with not the correct treatment and the attitude of the practitioner, who's name I have asked for. I have taken my daughter to minor injuries before and have not been treated like this.
"Daughter taken there for her hand to be looked at."
