To say I was petrified of having this op under general anaesthetic is to put it mildly! I was a quivering wreck. I have multiple allergies as well. I need not have worried. All the staff were marvellous. On admission the person who later served teas saw me shaking and brought a blanket which they wrapped round me and lifted my feet up on to a footstool. The nursing staff were equally supportive. Very professional and reassuring. I cannot praise the surgeon who carried out the procedure enough. Throughout the whole experience of me attending clinic to the operation itself their care has been exemplary. The anaesthetist came to see me before the op, told me that I was allowed to be scared but just to remember that their sole responsibility during the operation was to look after me. If ever I had to have another operation I would like these two people to be responsible for my care. This was ten days ago now. So ladies please try not to worry, if like me you are a nervous person. have confidence in this department of the John Radcliffe hospital
