"Appointments for Cardiology"

My partner has a a heart condition and has been fitted with an ICD. He had an appointment to see the cardiologist cancelled at short notice and was told that there were no appointments available for nearly 6 months. If he didn't attend that one then he can't see anyone until Jan 2016! This is ridiculous.
