"Dad's stay in hospital."

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

My dad was in 8 days and in that time he had 2 ops. He had a drain in his knee that came out so I put it back in and told the nurse as we left and they said the night staff would come and have a look at it but no one came to see to it. The next day the bottle was nearly full it had stopped working. That evening the staff came around with tea/coffee, a very pleasant person, and we asked them why no one had been to see to theses 24 hours before they spoke to a senior nurse and all they could say was they didn’t know where the drain bottles were kept! Also they could barely speak any English which made matters so much worse. My dad is diabetic and was receiving insulin but it wasn’t given at the appropriate time. Consultant came around few days after and said the drain bottle should have been removed 48 hours before. What a complete and utter joke. It’s a disgrace.

We would be pleased to arrange for these concerns to be investigated if the patient would like to contact us directly.
