I stayed in ward 5 A South from 2nd to 14 April following a revision hip replacement. Throughout my stay the care and consideration given by the staff was excellent. Despite all the negative comments made by nurse's leaders on TV no problem or request was too much, and always delivered with a smile and courtesy. They really do seem to enjoy their vocation regardless of their title or position. All the staff seemed willing to chip in and 'get their hands dirty' rather than sit back and think they are too overqualified to be involved in the mundane nursing duties. I would be disappointed if the food was served in a restaurant but there were plenty of choice and variation. I would add that the operation went well thanks to the consultant. Thank you Ward 5 South for making my stay as good as it could be.
