"Absolute waste of time. No help, no joy, no..."

About: Diana, Princess Of Wales Hospital

My partner waited in A&E for 3 hours before being seen by a triage nurse. From the moment we arrived, we told them he had to be under a certain DR that he has been seeing. The nurse taking the bloods was obviously bored of being there as not one smile or happy conversation was given. My partner then went on up to the Assessment ward. He was woken up at 1:30am to be asked by a DR what was wrong, for him then to say wait for the Dr in the morning. My partner didn't see a Dr until late on that day who didn't do much. My partner was given the medication he has at home already, and only had an X Ray in a&e. He was told he was going to have loads of tests done and he would be seen my his main DR. He was then woken up again at a stupid time in the middle of the night to be moved to C5, respitory ward, something he does not need any help with, so why put him there? Just because it is a bed? He wasn't given any more information even though both him and myself chased. He was then told he maybe able to go home by a Dr, who said that they would give him a medication and that should work and he could possibly go home. I confirmed with a nurse when I arrived, who said he had to wait for another DR! This is now getting beyond the joke. We waited for the DR who then told my partner he was in for another night, and had to see yet another Dr tomorrow! The Dr told my partner they would swap the medication because it isn't helping. Later that night, the meds came round, the nurse, couldn't even explain what the injection was for. Luckily, me and my partner knew! The nurse then went to give my partner the wrong meds, and went we questioned it, the nurse looked and went "oh yeah. I will go find out what it is your having instead", that was at 6:30pm now at 13:15pm the next day still nothing! My partner had to stay yet again in hospital to be told today by a nurse he could possibly be going home again today. A DR came round, then told him they weren't sure if they were happy for him to go home today, and that they wasn't happy with the other DR that examined him yesterday!!!! We also found out that no one had even written on his notes that he needed to be seen by a certain DR! Whilst we were there, someone pressed their nurse bell. 25 minutes later someone arrived to see the patient had wet himself, he was waiting 25 minutes! Even though there were approx 6 nurses and HCA outside. The hospital needs a huge shake up. What do we pay NI for??? It is disgusting and quite frankly I would rather be ill at home than go to that hospital, or even travel to a different town to go to hospital. I am appalled and will be writing a written complaint as soon as I can. No one knows what anyone is doing, all giving different answers, and getting his hopes up to let him down again!
