"Appointment waiting time"

About: St Thomas' Hospital (London)

I attended the hand clinc in oct 2014 where I was told I had carpal tunnel syndrome. I was given a splint to wear for 6 weeks and was told that if it did not get better go back to my doctors to be re referred back to the clinic which I have. my doctor re referred me back to the hand clinic on the 12th of March 2015 it is now the middle of April and I am still waiting for an appointment and as the problem is in my right hand which I have to use constantly as I am right handed and use a keyboard daily, my hand is getting worse. how much longer should I / could I wait before I get seen really not happy as I am in pain daily

I am sorry to lean that you are in pain and are still waiting for your appointment with the Hand Clinic. If neither you nor your GP have received any information from the Hand Clinic since you posted your comment on this website, I hope you will contact the hospital’s PALS (patient advice and liaison service). PALS would be happy to liaise with the Orthopaedics service management team, who could look into any problems and provide you with the information you need. PALS can be contacted by telephone on 020 7188 8801 or by email at pals@gstt.nhs.uk.
