My daughter was brought into a&e by myself and my husband due to a high temperature of 39 degrees c, vomiting and being rather lethargic. She is 8 months old. We were told to wait in the main reception area to be seen by a nurse first for an initial assessment. This took 45 minutes. 5 minutes prior to this the nurse and receptionist had a pleasant conversation about Easter eggs while my baby was being sick in the reception area and becoming worse.my husband then got up and enquired how much longer it would take and we were told to wait as there were others in front of us (there were no longer any people to be seen apart from us). When we did get seen my daughter had a temp of 39 and a heart rate of 188-190bpm. I was certainly worried at this point.we were given calpol (my daughter threw this back up). And we're told to wait. 2 hours later we were seen. Total time 10pm arrival left at 2am. I would like someone to please follow this up as she is a baby and I felt as though we weren't taken seriously.
