"Sunrise Neonatal Unit - first class care"

About: North Middlesex Hospital

My son was born at 34 weeks and was therefore admitted to the neonatal unit at North Middlesex University Hospital. This was a very worrying and stressful time for the whole family, however the excellent care provided by all the staff at Sunrise Neonatal Unit made it bearable. All the staff were attentive, understanding and so professional. The care given by the Doctors and Nurses was first class and I cannot fault the unit at all. We as parents were always kept informed of the decisions made regarding our sons care and we were given so much encouragement and support by the staff. As a first time mother, it was very daunting having my son in neonatal care however I was always given help and advice by the staff. In particular, I found the breastfeeding support nurse to be particularly helpful and kind. They were so encouraging and helped me get to grips with breastfeeding when my son's condition improved. All the staff are an asset to the unit and the hospital and the ward sister was also very kind and helpful. I have only praise for this unit and hospital and they have done a wonderful job with my son's care and we will forever be grateful to them.
