What I liked

I am trying to cancel an appointment my wife, has with the doctor in Endocrinology on 30th June at 15.00. The phone at his desk was not manned on Saturday or this morning when I tried (several times). I have thus sent a reply to the SMS reminder I received for the appointment and hope this will do. My wife will phone the doctor's office when she returns from looking after her mother.

We are happy to say that the 30 June appointment for Mrs Parkes has been cancelled. The Endocrinology service does not run on Saturdays and at times during the week, such as Monday mornings, callers may experience delays in getting through to the number due to the high volume of calls to the clinic. The Endocrinology team look forward to hearing from Mrs Parkes on her return.

IMPORTANT NOTE: While we are happy to help Mr Parkes in this instance, the NHS Choices patient feedback page is not a reliable method of cancelling appointments. If patients are unable to get through on the number they have, please call the main hospital switchboard on 01962 863535 who will then try and connect you to the relevant staff.
