"Privileged to have L&D as local A&E"

Came to A&E yesterday (13/4/15) with my mum who had concerning post op symptoms. She had a bed within 40 minutes, within 3 hours she had bloods, ECG, X ray, a very comprehensive assessment from Doctor, advice from surgical consultants, urine sample, other obs. Thankfully the conclusion was gastro enteritis and not a surgical complication. Doctor was so thorough and had a lovely personal manner, they explained what they were doing very effectively and Mum and I felt a very high level of confidence in their care and expertise. Having discharged Mum, the doctor called Mum at home about 2 hours later with blood results. Every single nurse we had contact with treated Mum with an incredibly high level of respect, concern and despite being there for only about 4 hours it felt very personal. Thank you
