I was taken to A&E in severe pain by paramedic and after xray blood tests and examination Was admitted to emergency ward.I was diagnosed with an infection of the gall bladder.I was given I.V. antibiotics. Strong pain relief was commenced. I also had an ultrasound scan which showed a large gallstone stuck in the duct. The plan was to treat the infection, relieve the pain, discharge home and book an MRCP and come back for operation to remove the gallstone. But because of increasing pain I had to go to theatre on my 4th day and an operation to remove the gallstone and gallbladderwas done.I went home the next day. Throughout all the time I was in hospital I was treated with the utmost care and respect. From the A&E staff, emergency ward staff, Coombes ward staff, Theatre staff,Cleaners ,Catering staff.Special thanks must go to all the nursing staff and to the surgeon who operated on me.I found the hospital very clean. I have no hesitation in recommending this Hospital for its exceptional care and treatment. As a Registered Nurse Level 1 recently retired I know a good hospital when I see one.
