"Bad delay in writing referral letters"

About: Northampton General Hospital (Acute) / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

i took my daughter to see GP last week. on discussion with him about her care i was surprised to find out that it took nearly 2 months for a clinic letter to be written.

my daughter attended an appointment to see an eye consultant, in the first week of January 2007, the clinic letter was typed and sent to the GP about 10th march 2007. in the mean time i had been to eye casualty and had a follow up appointment letter with consultant.

surely letters are important form of communication and should be done within specified timescales. the GP was unaware of my daughters current situation and i feel that they should know. more money is needed for secretarial support. thank you
