"Attempts to get a follow up appointment"

About: Queen Marys Hospital (Sidcup)

My husband attended the eye casualty following referral from urgent care. The service was excellent as was the treatment. Problems have arisen in trying to obtain a follow up appt which the doctor advised would be in 3 weeks time. Today I have telephone 5 times have been spoken to in a very discourteous manner and told 3 different outcomes to my question.i was transferred to MRI, follow up Apps, new appts, secretary, switchboard who didn't listen at all and transferred me to where I had already tried to get through. I am now told my husband will be seen within the 13 week waiting guide line for non urgent treatment. Fine but why does it take 5 phone calls, no answer from various departments, different replys and quite frankly made to feel you are a nuisance. I truly fear for people, especially the elderly, who try to sort out their problems. My husbands name is David and he was see on 27th March 2015. I worked in the NHS for 26 years and never treated anyone like this which is requesting a basic answer to a basic question. Sad to see the word 'care' has gone from the NHS.
