After having multiple scans in the past I found out I had 2 cysts on my ovaries one measuring at 7cm on my left ovary causing me severe pain, I was rushed to a&e and was seen to immediately, they did test and scans which I have had done before and admitted me onto ward F1. Staff were really friendly on my arrival and made me feel at ease. The next morning, the doctor came around and explained to me that I would be being put onto the emergency list for the next day for an operation because of the pain I was in (but explained that they done really like to rush these type of procedure) that day the ward was short staffed meaning everything was running late - medication, lunch and dinner time, most of the time a few of the nurses just sat around chatting to one another. Another thing I wasn't happy with was nurses letting some patients have visitors out of visiting times but when my partner came 10 minutes early at the day visitin they said I had to go to out til 3 to see them which I found disgusting. On the day of the op the surgeon came down and explained the procedure to me and what was going to happen and handed me over my gown and told me I was 4th on the list to go to theatre. A little later the doctor then came around and told me they had changed their mind and had told me they weren't going to operate as they would prefer it to be planned. I wasn't happy after getting myself wound up and upset about having to have my op I got let down. After this they took down my NBM sign which I then waited after asking 3 nurses for a jug of water 1 and a half hours. Unfortunaltely I didn't find my stay here very comfortable and preferred to be in my own home so I asked and they discharged me. Only 2-3 nurses I was grateful for on that ward.
