"Urgent heart catheter ablation done so well by a..."

About: Hammersmith Hospital

On Feb 9th I was transferred over as an urgent private patient from an NHS hospital as my SVT heart arrhythmias had got much worse and on the 5th - a weekend - I'd had a nasty atrial fib which required shocking. My April surgery had to be pushed forward -fast. The consultant made a huge effort to accommodate my needs and saw me that Monday evening and did the full ep study and ablation. It's a traumatic type of surgery the first time, but the consultant was so patient and kept me informed, hthey were incredibly skilled at the procedure and explained that they had found the extra two pathways and ablated them. I later found out that I had wpw - which Dthe consultant and their brilliant assistant fixed. After care straight after the op was great - from both the consultant and the nice nurse on the private ward who checked my blood pressure and bpm,and helped to take my mind off the surgery. The consultant is a huge asset to your hospital - they area great surgeon, realised how urgent the surgery had become, and was decent enough to see me very quickly. Had the consultant not had any one of these qualities, I doubt that I would be sitting ere now, as my condition was far from stable and the ablation had become urgent. two months on, I feel so much better - the Dr's aftercare for me as an outpatient has been brilliant as well, and it was good to know what the problem had been. I'm now much better and cautious that I've made a full recovery. A kind, nice, and very talented doctor - thanks Hammersmith hospital!
