About: Bedford Hospital South Wing

After a dozen doctors appointments, 111 phone calls and a long 7 weeks of kidney problems and sever abdominal pain I made my way to A & E because it all just got too much. I understand that our health care system is under a lot of pressure but I feel that the doctor dismissed any seriousness and said "Its a water infection". I explained that I had gone to the doctors multiple times and no bacteria or foreign bodies were found in my urine samples and all tests sent to the lab were clear, I had already been on antibiotics and no symptoms had cleared. In fact they just got worse. I gave them a urine sample and they claimed that I had an infection- Not explaining and said my sample would be sent off. The doctor gave me a weeks worth of antibiotics and told me to go to my doctors in 5 days for results and sent me on my way. So in 5 days and another batch of antibiotics that didn't work later I rang the doctors in hope of some answers. My doctor who was very apologetic told me that no sample had ever been sent and prescribed me yet another weeks worth of antibiotics.I am confused as to why my sample never got sent away and frankly disgusted in the NHS and obvious lack in communication. I have also now waited 7 weeks for a letter about a scan, and still no sign of one and was referred to Urology. I got a letter 5 weeks after my referral stating that there were no appointments available. At 21, a full time degree student and working 25 hours a week, unanswered concerns about my health are now affecting every aspect of my life and I am highly upset.
