"They say that every cloud has a silvery lining and..."

About: St Mary's Hospital (HQ) (London)

Although I completed the questionnaire before leaving St Mary´s, I would llike to express my gratitude in a more personal way, for how wonderfully I was cared for, first in the AMU and then in Thistlethwaite Ward. I was admitted the AMU on Friday night, 20th March, with a fever, feeling extremely weak and, worst of all, not knowing why. Thanks to the efficient and prompt intervention of your entire medical team, within 24 hours I "felt myself" again. Obviously the infection persisted (I had pneumonia) and the constant "obs" and tests continued, in order to adjust the treatment accordingly. After 5 nights in hospital I was discharged and am now recovering well with my family in Spain, getting stronger each day. The mass media bombard us with atrocious events worldwide, yet how rarely do we have news of anonymous and outstanding people who devote their lives to making life possible for so many of us. They say that every cloud has a silvery lining, and for me it was a priviledge to have been cared for by such an exceptional team. I would like to convey my heartfelt thanks to all the Doctors, Nurses and other ward staff for their hard work, dedication and kindness. I shall remember you all with gratitude, admiration and affection. Margaret
