"Bad mannered midwives"

About: Wythenshawe Hospital

After visiting my friends premature baby in the intensive care baby unit, as I left I turned to put a tissue in the bin and another baby with a mask over their eyes caught my eye. I turned and had a quick look at them for a nurse / midwife turn around and shout quite loudly "excuse me, you're not allowed to look at the other babies". They said this very abrupt too. I'm not usually one to complain but felt this rude midwife needed reporting. There's a list of rules all over the unit (turn phones off, take coats off, wash hands etc) maybe the 'no looking at other babies' rule could be put on there instead of being screamed at you?

Thank you for posting your comments on the NHS Choices website. I am sorry to hear of your experience when visiting your friends prematusre baby. I have forwarded your comments to the Matron over the Intensive care baby unit in order for her to discuss your concerns with the member of staff involved. Kind regards Patient Experience Manager
