"Waiting times at York Hospital"

About: York Hospital

Initially treatment at the hospital has been good, staff were really friendly and helpful. However, after my initial appointment with the consultant, my care has gone rapidly downhill in terms of treatment availability. I was first referred from the GP mid January saw the consultant mid Fed and was told I could expect my appointment for the procedure to be end of May or June at the earliest. As far as it being a diagnostic procedure, there is very little point in doing it unless you are symptomatic and after 6 months waiting, it is highly unlikely that anything will be diagnosed with any great accuracy. I can completely understand the waiting times within the NHS and would ordinarily not complain about them as I appreciate the hard work that the medics and nurses put in but when you have been unable to work properly for months because of your illness then it starts to be a bit of a joke, how much money is wasted carrying out procedures which would have been great if only they had been done at a time when an outcome would be likely, by doing them when people have recovered? Kind regards, Patient at the end of her tether.
