"Terrible"

About: St Mary's Hospital (HQ) (London)

I spent hours going through reviews trying to choose which hospital to book at for my first pregnancy. I self referred over the phone at 6 weeks. No appointment letter came through so I had to call the antenatal clinic helpline - only to he greeted by a very rude and unhelpful ANC receptionist. Finally got an appointment letter through the post, and on the day, I. arrived for a 9 am appointment, and was made to wait for an hour to see a midwife when those who arrived after me were seen first. I saw a lovely midwife who told me to go to the reception desk to make an appointment for a 12 week daring scan, but was given an appointment for when I would be almost 14 weeks by the receptionist who had taken the liberty of making the medical decision that as there were no scan appointment slots available for when I would be 12 weeks that it's ok to miss this scan...and that I would just " jump to the next scan" Truly incredible. Isn't this an antenatal clinic and don't you deal with women booking for their pregnancy requiring time limited scans every day? The whole experience has made me extremely anxious about having booked at St Mary's, and their lax attitude and alteration of appointment dates by receptionists without consultation with non medically qualified people is worrying.
