"Visit to A&E"

About: King George Hospital

My husband has Alzheimers and was taken to A&E after a seizure. The doctor was superb, all you would hope a doctor to be but sadly don't always find. They were understanding and compassionate, explained everything and was confident enough to use their initiative instead of just following procedures. The porter, on the other hand, was opinionated who thought all members of the public were stupid.

Thank you for leaving your comment on NHS Choices. I’m delighted your husband’s time in our A&E was superb, especially because you felt our staff were understanding and compassionate. However, I am disappointed to hear about the attitude of our porter. This is not what we would expect from a member of our staff. Please contact our PALS team with further details on 01708 435 454 or email PALS@bhrhospitals.nhs.uk so this can be investigated further. Yours sincerely Wendy Matthews Interim Chief Nurse
