"Inability to diagnose illness accurately"

Since going to my local GP surgery with both my children who are now 5 and my youngest 7 months. I have to say I am repeatedly disappointed with the care they give them or the inability to diagnose an illness accurately.

Every doctor I've seen does different procedures for the exact same illness, some doctors pick up the problem and some don't and the ones who don't only eventually pick up the problem when it's me asking them to check elsewhere.... Like the throat for example......everything in the world is a viral infection and my best diagnosis yet was my son had a viral wheeze, which in fact turned out to be the beginning of asthma and once proscribed inhalers only then did he start to breath easier.

At the moment my son has most of the symptoms of cystic fibrosis and when I mentioned this to the doctor they did say yes he does has most of the symptoms but see how he is in a few weeks.... Are you kidding me.... Why not test him for it now, what's the problem with that.

I don't care if it costs the NHS money for these tests as I have already paid well over my fair share into the system and have never in my life abused it. My partner included. I just feel as though everytime we go with our kids is a pointless exercise.

My daughter when she was younger had countless chest infections one after the other and everyone was diagnosed as a viral infection. It wasn't until the 4th or 5th chest infection in the space of a month or so that I kicked up a fuss and demanded antibiotics and low and behold once finished the course has never had another once since. I'd like to bet I'm not the only parent that feels this way.
