"Referral to a cardiology consultant"

About: NHS Telford and Wrekin CCG The Princess Royal Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

Diabetic checks in November highlighted a lack of sensation in my feet & swollen ankles. Advised to see GP. Though no pain to report my breathlessness led GP’s to suspect some heart strain. Chest x-ray, ECGs and blood tests later. I was referred to a cardiology consultant.

By February I had seen another GP who advised me to stop taking felodipine which is known to cause fluid retention. When I saw the consultant for a heart scan, he concluded that my heart function was normal. So a few worrying weeks but better safe than sorry!
