"i spent 7 months last year in ..."

About: Bristol Royal Infirmary

(as the patient),

What I liked

i spent 7 months last year in the old building on ward 28 which is now 26 , the staff in there are brilliant , i cannot fault them at all! i had one minor surgery and whilst spending 3 months in there waiting for it was left to do as i wanted and was seen when and if needed , the ward staff are extreamly positive even if your at the end of your teather , one nurse even sat by my side whilst i cried myself to sleep from medically induced depression , i was completly in control of what happend to me and was given every possible option i could have to deal with my illness , unfortunatly the opperation didnt work and earlier this year i underwent major surgery removing my large intestines , for a 20yr old it was a huge shock but with great thanks to the ward staff , doctors and surgeons i got through it, they were and still are there when ever i need there help , i could literally say i would trust them with my life. many people slate many of the wards in the bri but spending so much time in there you come to be supportive of the hospital, seeing what the staff do and put up with from some of the patients,, i dont think you could get support or pationts like that from any other hospital, keep up the good work guys .

What could be improved

more time given to nurses /doctors so they can spend the time needed and the time they want to with each person. ( i no many of the nurses would love to give more attention/ one to one time with a patient but there just isnt time for them to do so)
