"NHS day patient"

I was sent to North Downs as a visiting day patient to have an investigative procedure required by my GP. The information sent to me before the procedure and the discussion with the Consultant at North Downs allowed to make an informed choice to go ahead. The day care staff were all excellent from the time I arrived on site. The reception is polite and efficient and I was taken with minimal delays to the day ward. The staff there were very professional but still engaging and not stand offish. The procedure was explained and more checks done including all the correct paperwork. The theatre staff and the consultant carrying out the procedure were excellent, during the procedure they kept a good check on my pain state and kept me informed as to what was going on. I had very little pain thanks to their advice and 30 minutes later I was ready to go home. A follow up was already arranged and the recovery staff checked all onservations again before releasing me. The paperwork was again checked and I was kept well informed on what to do if there were any complications All in all an competant , caring and professional place to have to visit as a day patient.
