Thank you for your praise of our emergency department staff. Your concerns about Dunlop Ward have been shared with the Matron and Ward Manager, who are sorry to learn of your comments. Anyone with concerns about care or cleaning on a ward is encouraged to speak to the Ward Manager at the time so that prompt action can be taken. Dunlop Ward has recently been in a temporary location while important improvement work has been carried out, and so the staff were not working in their usual environment and may not have seemed as organised as they would be usually. The ward is currently recruiting and is about to return to its normal location, where it will now have additional single rooms. The Ward Manager is reminding nursing staff of the importance of sharing appropriate information with relatives in a timely manner. Every ward across the hospital carries out regular cleaning audits and there is daily documentation for the cleaning of siderooms and washing/toilet facilities. The cleaning services manager has been made aware of your observation.
