"Two days before I was going on ..."

About: Torbay Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Two days before I was going on holiday I was taken into Torbay Hospital with a suspected heart attack. I had extreme tightness in my chest and throat so I rang my GP to see if I could have a check up. My wonderful GP requested an ambulance immediately. I had taken an aspirin and began to feel better but the paramedics insisted I went to hospital. On arrival I had first class treatment, various tests during the day and eventually an overnight stay. Fortunately, I had not had a heart attack.

The doctors, nurses and consultants could not have been kinder. I was worried that I was wasting their time because I felt OK, but they assured me that any chest pain should be investigated - better to be safe than sorry. Thank you to all the people involved in my care.

What could be improved

Nothing

We have passed on your thanks to staff and are pleased that you felt you had first-class care. It must have seemed frightening at the time, and we are very glad that we could reassure you.
