"Grandmas current level of care, dignity and..."
About: Tameside General Hospital Tameside General Hospital Ashton Under Lyne OL6 9RW
Dignity in care: spoke about my gran like she wasn't there or in the room, staff laughed at me when asked what a particular medical acronym meant about my grans care. Involvement in decisions: haven't been given any one week into her stay she has been treated for a water infection we did not know about, all sorts of things happening but staff are always on change over so no one to speak to. Communication: that's a joke no too members of staff on the ward say the same thing nor do they hand over any notes. No member of staff is aware of what the other has been asked to do! Doctor asked for gran to be weighed. 5 days in still not happened. Asked to help feed my gran told by one nurse could be two people then removed from ward next day can only be one. Treatment: gran keeps pulling O2 from nose, staff told to watch for this regularly arrived twice to gran with no O2, other patients told me that had happened for 15 mins, this is dangerous. Gran appears confused she was never like this prior to entry into tameside. Pulled my mum to one side to speak to her away from me as my mum is unlikely to question them as she's extremely worried about her mother. Told nurse she needed to speak to their staff regarding lack of communication got no response. I will be continuing to update this treat of care be it good or bad. I am in hope they organise themselves better very soon Lady smith building
