"My husband's visit for high blood pressure"

About: Royal Gwent Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a relative),

My husband had had a fall 2 weeks before and had already attended the department but first time was just send home.

On second visit my husbands blood pressure was 235/135. Was given an emergency CT scan then had to wait 2 hrs for results. Thankfully there was no bleed but the A&e consultant wanted an MRI scan but that wasn't done.

My husband was given a blood pressure tablet but wasn't really monitored at all. My husband was referred for medics to come and review. We arrived in department at 11. 00am the medics finally arrived at 11. 30. My husband was then discharged from department around 1. 00am.

When asked why couldn't the A&e Doctor admit him was told he didn't fit the criteria!
