What I liked
Quiet efficiency. Information about me, results, treatments needed etc all seemed to pass very efficiently across all the various departments and staff. Everyone was very pleasant and courteous and with good "bedisde manner".
When I went to the hospital yesterday for my CT scan an older chap working on reception actually escorted me to the Ambulatory Care Unit. Not only was this a nice touch, it was also lovely to see someone who appeared to be of retirement age working.
As regards care, it was clear that everyone wanted to get to the bottom of the problem which was very reassuring.
What could be improved
Shorter waiting times for tests and results - but really minor point.
Anything else?
This was the first time I had been to hospital in about 35 years. I was impressed by the standard of care.
I hope comments are shared widely within the hospital and that something is done by management to promote a sense of pride within all staff.
