About: Wythenshawe Hospital

With nhs budget cuts I had expected to wait at least 4 hours when attending A & E today with chest pain. The speed with which I was seen and tests done was so quick and fast I was leaving less than 2.5 hours later. The service from staff whose contact with the patients was superb. I saw a doctor who was so lovely and they had one of the nicest bedside manners I had come across. They explained everything fully and took time to talk to me even though the department was extremely busy. Thankfully I wasn't suffering from anything serious and whilst I felt a fraud they didn't make me feel stupid for having attended the dept (gp surgery had said to go to A & E). I know the nhs gets a bad press but I would like to thank all the staff from receptionist to the doctor for the superb service I received today.
