"mums bone marrow test & biopsy"

About: New Victoria Hospital / Haematology

(as a relative),

My mum was due to go for a bone marrow test and biopsy a couple of weeks ago. She was so worried and uptight about it she ended up being really sick and her appointment had to be cancelled.

The New Victoria hospital staff in Glasgow were very understanding and rescheduled her appointment, Mum made her appointment although she was really nervous again and getting herself into a state. The staff were absolutely fantastic, managed to calm mum down and carried out the procedure.

Mum just wanted to say a special thank you to the receptionists at clinic P in the New Victoria Hospital Glasgow but especially to the staff who carried out the procedure with such professionalism and care...these were: Doctor Roisin Hamilton from the Haematology lab at the southern general hospital, Lynne Summers (specialist nurse at the royal alexandria hospital paisley-haematology lab) and Pat Muir at the victoria infirmary glasgow.

Thank you for being so kind, caring and professional. You are a credit to the NHS x

I work in a small team in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde which seeks to involve patients and carers in the work of the NHS. The biggest part of my role is in managing feedback projects across the Board area, one of which is Patient Opinion. It is my job to give our patients and carers the opportunity to give us feedback, and to make sure that this is passed to the right people to help us improve the services we provide.

Dear Zak,

Thank you so much for posting this kind feedback on behalf of your mum. I am so sorry that your post wasn't acknowledged at the time, however your comments have been passed along to the staff you mentioned and I know they will be pleased to hear what a difference they made to your mum.

I wish you both all the best,

Lorna
