What I liked
The nurse who held my hand during my treatment
The thing that sticks most in my mind is coming out of the treatment room with a nurse and being led to the dayward to be shown around the place where I would be coming back for an operation. I remember the nurse as we were walking up to the ward "who's that man in the waiting room, who is that man!!" all breathless and excited to the nurse who I was with, who was writhing with embarrassment, because that man in the waiting room was my partner. I had just been given an examination & told that the growth on my cervix was not cancer but precancerous and I was being shown around to help me feel "more comfortable" before my operation. I was in a bit of a state and that still upsets me terribly when I think about it. But that was just the start. When I voiced my concerns over pain relief I was told "but most women don't feel any pain". As far as choices wen't, I didn't have any. On the day, there was one very busy nurse who just didnt have time for anything other than medical procedure. My treatment was very traumatic and painful and I came out desperately not wanting to go back to that place again.
