"The care staff (in mint green) ..."

About: Derriford Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

The care staff (in mint green) were hard working ,

What could be improved

Serious lack of information given to famillies of a major stroke parent. After nearly three weeks on Burrator ward we asked for help from PALS situated on level 6 or by free phone at reception. Then things moved at the speed of lightning.the ward sister spoke to us.followed by the registrar and then even the consultant turned up all within an hour of speaking to PALS .Such a pity we had to take this action.Other visitors then asked us what we had done to get this response and that they too felt the need for PALS help.

Anything else?

Mum was several weeks later transfered to her home town hospital of liskeard.WOW what a difference .care in the community actually exists here.Every one greets you with a hello when you arrive.both nurses and care assistants are in and out of the ward all the time and I even got a call at home from mums named nurse with a catch up of how she was doing.10 out of 10 liskeard.
