I saw my neurologists on 25/03/15 they want to put me on tecfidera as I have been unable to take rebif any longer as it makes me so unwell and I'm needle phobic so an oral medication is better. But Lewisham and Greenwich Trust won't allow the doctor to prescribe it for me . So I'm hoping and praying that I don't have a relapse as I'm now not on anything and trying to hold down a full time job.I will be taking this further as I feel my neurologists is doing their level best for me and the trust is stopping them.

Thank you for your comments. Tecfidera is a drug that is currently only commissioned by NHS England. This means that each patient has to be considered on a case by case basis, as there is currently no set guidance. If agreed, for an individual patient, this can only be prescribed through a specialised centre e.g. King's College Hospital. Lewisham and Greenwich Trust is not recognised currently as a specialised centre and therefore cannot, unfortunately, prescribe this drug. Joanne Peck, Head of Nursing\Deputy Service General Manager
