"Day case at the Maple Unit"

From the reception staff to the nursing staff on the unit I could not fault the care. I had been given a choice of 4 different hospitals for my treatment for my Arthritic hip & chose SHH because I have faith in their expertise & had previously had excellent care in different departments, be it years ago. It was a relatively fleeting visit , but I was greeted by a nurse who introduced themselves on arrival & went on to 'admit' me. I then met the Nurse Consultant who explained everything I needed to know & later proceeded to do the 'injection', with a friendly humorous hand-holding nurse in theatre diverting my attention whilst the deed was done. Because I had previously been in so much pain & limited movement for months I was overwhelmed after the treatment . The relief was almost instant but the Nurse-Consultant made sure that I was fit able & mobile before I left after doing 'ballet at the bar', proving my re-gained movement. I cannot thank everyone enough,especially the Nurse Consultant. I know it is your job to do what you do, but you do it so well! A lovely friendly team who put people at their ease, understanding how nervous & daunted patients can feel. Many thanks again!
