My daughter was transferred to ward 43 area 4 late Friday 27th March from the A and E department of another hospital. My husband and I traveled approximately 90 miles too visit her after she was transferred on the same evening. The receptionist at the main reception was extremely polite informing us of my daughter's ward. The receptionist explained how to get to the ward and assured us we would be able to see our daughter even though it was passed visiting times. The doors to the ward were understandably closed but the staff gave us access with no problem. They were again very polite and put us at ease immediately. The staff informed us what was happening and again treated us with consideration. The doctor came whilst we were there and thoroughly examined our daughter something that wasn't done at the previous hospital. Our daughter was told what the treatment would be and staff quickly sorted her pain medication even telling her to buzz the staff if she was still in pain not to grin and bear it and lie in agony. We were provided with hot drinks even though our daughter was only allowed water. Considering it was late at night the ward was immaculate and clean. This review is only after our first day visiting but if this is normal practise I cannot fault the attention given by the staff and feel they excel in their patient care and understanding. I will update review but I'm sure it will still praise the medical staff.
