"Waste of public money"

About: Addenbrooke's Hospital

Have so far been twice to this hospital and just do not want to go there again! Here are the reasons: 1. Both times I waited for a long time (second time I waited for almost 3 hours!!). Given that the doctors I was visiting did not take any emergencies, I find this inexcusable. 2. Both times the doctors did not take the time to examine me saying that they were not the doctors I should see! If that is the case I do not understand why I was sent to them in the first place! For the 2nd doctor I honestly think they just wanted to go home... it was almost 6 o clock (my appointment was at 3!). 3. Staff seems to be in general indifferent to the patients needs. There were old people and people in wheelchairs waiting for hours, while the staff did not seem to be in rush! just chatting in the corridors. 4. The hospital seems to be dirty... I am talking about the cafeteria/restaurant and waiting rooms... don't think I would like to have a surgery there. To sum up both time I visited the hospital was a total waste of my time (had to leave work to go there) and most importantly of public money (two times sent to the wrong doctor and did not get examined). I am in pain since October and still have not managed to have the proper tests done... forgot to mention that I have a chronic problem which should make things easier as we know where to look... Totally dissatisfied with this hospital!!!

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your appointments. I am sorry to learn that you are unhappy with the waiting times, the purpose of the appointments, the attitude of the staff and also the environment. This is certainly not how we would patients to feel when visiting our hospital. If you would like us to look into your individual circumstances and respond to you in detail, please contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 01223 216756 or email pals@addenbrookes.nhs.uk.
