About: Kettering General Hospital

Please refer to previous posting on 2.3.15 Here I am again, following on from my previous review on the above date. I am still waiting for my appoint to see the second consultant I left a message for the first consultants secretary again and eventually got a call back to say my referral had been passed onto the second consultants secretary but give it a couple of days before ringing as it had only just been passed on, they had typed it up after listening to my message and then rang me. How much longer would it have taken if I had not rung? I left it a week before contacting the consultants secretary to see when my appointment would be. They could not find my referral but seemed to think they remembered it coming in. They said they would check the Consultants folder to see if it was there. It was not so they said it had most likely been sent to bookings. I asked for them to make sure it had been received and they said they had no way of checking. Do departments not log in referrals- log them out when passed to another department and then log them back in when received back with an appointment time? Or was it a case of just could not be bothered to look into it properly, because this is how the whole process has felt. I rang again on Monday and got an answerphone again so left a message. Herd nothing Tuesday so rang again today and again had to leave a message. I was informed in my last review that the poor letter writing etc in this department was being addressed at that very time, I don't think so. Do secretaries work full time these days, are their hours covered when they are on leave or sick, it does not seem like they are as it is very rare you get hold of them as the answerphone is on most of the time. Again I have not commented above because I have not even stepped through the doors of the hospital yet What will it take to get an appointment and even more how long is it going to take to get the operation I need?!
