"Very apprehensive patient"

About: Leighton Hospital

Accompanied my very nervous husband to ENT outpatients, where I found the lovely consultant, reception staff and booking officer unbelievably caring and compassionate. Since being in communication with the delightful Matron covering ENT, they have gone out of their way to arrange admission for my husband to undergo surgery. Having been a private patient myself, nothing could possibly compare with the exemplary care given to my husband within the surgical departments of this NHS hospital. Being a retired senior nurse, I am always on the 'look out' for examples of poor care but I have found them hard to find within this area. In conclusion,as I now live in a world of utter confusion, I find the newly installed colour coded signage extremely helpful and very well set out.

Thank you for your lovely comments following your recent experiences in the ENT Out Patients Department and the Surgical Division here at Leighton Hospital. We are very pleased to hear that your husband has received exemplary care and that the staff you met were caring and compassionate. We appreciate that an admission to hospital can be a daunting experience for any patient, particularly if you are very anxious about attending the hospital and it is good to hear that you husband received the support he required. We appreciate you taking the time to give us feedback on our service. With best wishes Sue Sarson, Modern Matron
