About: Frenchay Hospital

(as a relative),

Anything else?

On visiting room 105 i spent about 5 hours taking to a relation, during this time there was and still is an elderly Lady having trouble with her legs it seems, at one time there were 2 lady Doctors? in the room, the Lady was in pain and asked them to please help her lift up her foot, the reply she recived was, oh.I will send a staff member to see to you.the ladies then left the room. I was in the room for at least 2 hours and no one came to see what was wrong, the old Lady in the mean time gave up and fell to sleep.

The next day I again visited room 105. during this visit an elderly Lady (not the same one) kept calling for a nurse, the reply from outside the room was allright will be coming, the lady was very distresd and kept calling for a nurse, same reply, the lady draged herself out of bed and tried to walk outside of the room to get help but was unable to do so, another patient tried to get a nuse but could not make it to the door. all this ti me the elderly lady was calling for a nurse. after a while I got up and walked to the room door, there were around 4.5. nurses/people chatting to one another( I would point out that the lady had spoilt her bed andclothes by being unable to get help to go to the toilet). I looked at this group and pointed my hand at them to indicate they had not helped the Lady. THEN they moved and saw her condition 4 people now attended to clean her up and the mess.

my comment is this,if the group had stopped talking..no..chatting as we could hear what they were saying, this would not..should not have made this lady suffer as she did.

I would like your reply as I am due to go into hospital soon, and this has put me right off.
