"I feel I was side lined at Bolton A&E"

About: Royal Bolton Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I have been ill for the past 3 and a half years after a stroke during labour a few months ago I had a bad attack of Transient Ischaemic Attack (TIA), which I have bad ones prob 3 times a year. On Sunday I was taken by ambulance to the hospital as they thought I was in a bad way (had 3 fits in the ambulance on the way). On getting to the hospital I feel I was side lined as I had been in and out of Bolton a few times.

I explained to the doctors what usually happened at home. I am prescribed opiates daily and other drugs, I asked for these drugs through a drip, this has been a regular thing. I know at the age of 30 what works. I feel that I was then, for over 5 hours, treated like I was a druggie and left to go home where I spent the night in a lot of pain.

I then went to my gp who sorted everything out, just wish the doctors and the few rude nurses I dealt with would listen and understand a complicated illness. I have never had such a disgusting experience and hope nobody else goes through it. On a positive note the staff before and after my hospital visit have all been fantastic
