"Maxillofacial surgery"

About: Wythenshawe Hospital

My wife has recently been discharged from hospital having been treated for an acute dental abscess by the Maxillofacial department. For her first visit to A&E, she was treated with respect and care from all the staff from A&E to ward S2, and finally F9 ward. My wife noticed that although all the staff were very kind and caring, they seemed to be run off their feet, and as a consequence could be prone to making mistakes, although none were encountered while she was in the hospital. As a visitor I did encounter a problem in finding her ward, and found the signage rather confusing, and needed to ask the staff several times for directions, which were given willingly. Overall a good experience of this hospital and the care received therein.

Many thanks for your comments. I am pleased to hear that your wife was treated well during her stay at Wythenshwe Hospital and have passed you comments to the areas involved with your wife's care. We are constantly reviewing our signage to make it as easy to follow for our visitors as possible and we will bring your comments to the attention of the group responsible for the signage within our hospital. Kind regards Patient Experience Manager
