"Functional Endoscopic Synus Surgery - Lister..."

About: Lister Hospital

I was referred to the Lister Hospital for Surgery for repeated synusitus and blockage on the my left side of my face. After MRI and CT scan it reavealed some sort of liquid in my synus's which the consultant said could be removed with FESS (Functional Endoscopic Synus Surgery) operation. I was admitted fro day surgery and I must say I was very impressed with the day surgery facilities and the staff. I had to wait in line for my operation, but was kept informed of the times by the nurses. After the operation which removed infected mucus (only) I felt groggy for a few days and had an awful headache, and my nose bled a few times over the next few days, but nothing serious. I was told to stay away from the office (I work in London) for 2 weeks and then I could go back in. I was provided with pain killers which I used for a couple of days, and some wash for my nose to be used 3-4 times a day. I can only speak for my own experiences but I was impressed with everything about the day surgery team, and will have a check up in 6 weeks with the consultant.
