"Long wait for Mother-in-Law in A&E"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a relative),

Admitted at 05:00 on Tuesday, waited for 5 hours before getting a drink then was left in the A&E department for a further 8 hours without being offered any food.

This is outrageous, 77 year old lady with MS and Raynaud's left on a bed offered no food for over 12 hours.

I look forward to your reply.

Dear Fatles

Thank you for getting in touch. That is completely unacceptable and I will pass this on to the matron in charge straight away for action.

If you are able to give us some more details by email please let me know on ben.mearns@sash.nhs.uk and I can then investigate the specifics.

I'm so sorry that we let you down.

Kindest regards
