"Access to the anti-coagulation clinic"

Patients requiring anti- coagulation treatment have to attend the pathology department at QEH for weekly blood tests until their INR is stable and then treatment is maintained at the GP surgery.

This patient has atrial fibrillation and therefore cardiac incompetence. She also has rheumatoid arthritis and is overweight all of which affect her mobility. She cannot walk from the hospital car park to the pathology department. QEH offer no help in this situation. She therefore has to hire a car to take her to the hospital and drop her at the staff entrance from which she has a short level walk to pathology.

This patient is not unique. Please can provision be made for this group of patients to park where they can access pathology and maintain their independence without incurring excessive cost.
