I suffered an unacceptable procedure in the Endoscopy Unit in January of this year. On arrival I was perfectly confident that all would go well as I had previously experienced the same procedure (a colonoscopy) some years ago at Wexham Park where here I was treated extremely well. This time it started badly when I was interviewed by a senior nurse who, in spite of asking them to call me by my first name, addressed me as 'luvvie' at the beginning and end of every question. Although quite elderly, I am perfectly 'with it' and loathe being patronised. I felt pain during the procedure and was very rudely awakened afterwards. I needed much more rest as I was extremely dizzy when forced to stand and I was unable to tie my shoelaces. I was hastened out of the unit without as much as a hot drink. (They must have known I hadn't eaten for over 36 hours) As this happened around lunch-time, I assumed the nurses wanted to get off for their meal. Shame on them! Some patient care training is desperately needed here!
